The procedures do not meet the basic principles of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.<\/p>\n<p>Also, as of 1 February 2017 , no more long stay visa applications for adoption will be allowed.<\/p>\n<p>The International Adoption Mission draws the attention of families to the fact that adoptions done in the Dominican Republic by an adoption judgment in spite of the suspension would risk, in addition to being denied a long stay visa, not to be recognized by the French courts.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>==============================================<\/p>\n<p>Adoptions en Dominique &#8211; suspension (06.01.2017)<\/p>\n<p>La Mission de l\u2019Adoption internationale (MAI) informe les familles en cours de proc\u00e9dure d\u2019adoption individuelle en Dominique de sa d\u00e9cision, prise par arr\u00eat\u00e9 du 16 d\u00e9cembre 2016 en attente de publication au journal officiel de la R\u00e9publique fran\u00e7aise, de suspendre toutes les adoptions internationales dans ce pays.<br \/>\nLa MAI constate en effet que les principes \u00e9thiques et les r\u00e8gles d\u2019ordre public qui r\u00e9gissent l\u2019adoption internationale dans notre pays ne sont pas respect\u00e9s \u00e0 la Dominique.
